To My Younger Self

To my younger self,

I hope you know that you will fly. You will soar and you will conquer. You will make it past these tough years and you will most importantly make it to college. You will have some days of struggle. You will cry, you will panic, but more importantly, you will have days of happiness.

I know right now you are done with life, ready to throw the towel and give up. But you can’t. You have a beautiful life to live. You will meet people that will become your best friends. You may meet your soulmate one day. Your family cares for you and would be so beyond devastated if you gave up.

So keep fighting. Fight for the little pockets of joy. Fight for your future. You will get out of this stage of your life. You will learn to dream again and really learn the meanings of life.

This cannot be your end. You have so much to look forward to. College, friendships, family memories, reunions. Life is just so beyond worth living. Giving into your urges to end it all just takes the pain off you and puts it onto someone else.

Take each moment as a learning experience. When you fall, you learn to get back up again. When you fail, you learn to put your head back up and carry on.

Life is going to give you some hard days, I am not going to sugarcoat it. But it is also going to give you days that you will never want to end. Days of smiles and laughter. Days of memories and pure happiness.

If you give up now, you won’t experience these moments. You will miss out on learning how to live a real and valuable life. Please just hold on. Hold onto the little happy moments and learn from the big sad ones. You are loved by so many people that need you in their lives. Your mom, your dad, your sister. They don’t want to see you go. Your friends would be heartbroken.

Life is a beautiful thing and we need you here.

Much love,

Your future self
